Agreement to these terms

These terms are a binding agreement between you and Arketo, the operator of Arketo ("Arketo", "we", "us"). They cover your use of the Arketo website, the hosted canvas, and the MCP endpoint we provide. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Arketo.

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter a contract. If you use Arketo for an organization, you confirm you are allowed to bind that organization to these terms.

The Arketo service

Arketo is a hosted canvas that visualizes software architecture. You connect your own AI assistant over the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and that assistant draws and updates a diagram, marks findings, and writes a report inside your private workspace. We render, store, and host that workspace for you.

You bring the model. Arketo does not include or resell an AI model, and we never hold an AI provider API key on your behalf. Any diagram, finding, or report depends on the assistant you connect, and we do not control or guarantee its output.

Your account

You sign up with an email address and a password. Keep your password and your MCP URL secret: they grant access to your workspace. You are responsible for activity under your account, so tell us promptly if you think it has been compromised.

One account is for one user or one organization. Do not share credentials more widely than your plan allows, and do not try to reach another account's workspace.

Your content and your assistant

Your content is the architecture you create in Arketo: the components, connections, findings, reports, and notes produced through your connected assistant. As between you and us, you own your content.

You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content for the sole purpose of providing the service to you, for example rendering the canvas and computing layout. You are responsible for what you and your assistant put into Arketo, and you confirm you have the right to use it. Do not input material you are not allowed to share, including another party's confidential information without permission.

Acceptable use

Use Arketo lawfully and do not misuse it. In particular, do not:

  • break the law, infringe others' rights, or upload content you have no right to use;
  • attempt to access workspaces, data, or systems that are not yours;
  • probe, scrape, overload, or disrupt the service, or work around the action limits, rate limits, or security controls;
  • resell, sublicense, or rent the service, or use it to build a competing product;
  • reverse engineer the software, except to the limited extent the law expressly allows.

We may investigate suspected breaches and act on them, including by suspending access.

Subscription and billing

Arketo is a paid subscription, billed on the cadence you choose at checkout (for example weekly, monthly, or yearly) at the price shown there. Payments run through Stripe, our payment processor; we do not see or store your full card details. Card and PayPal are supported.

By subscribing, you authorize a recurring charge for your chosen billing period until you cancel. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price. Prices are shown exclusive of any taxes that may apply, and we may change the price for future billing periods with reasonable notice.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. When you cancel, your subscription stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then it stops. We do not give pro-rated refunds for a partial billing period except where the law requires it.

If you are a consumer in the EU, your statutory right of withdrawal may apply; where it does, this section is subject to that right.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Arketo available and reliable, but we provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without an uptime guarantee. We may change, suspend, or retire features, and we may run maintenance that makes the service briefly unavailable. Where a change is significant, we will give reasonable notice when we can.

The findings are an aid, not advice

Arketo is a visualization and review aid, not professional advice. The diagrams, findings, severities, and reports are generated with the help of your assistant and can be incomplete or wrong. They do not replace your own security review, architecture review, or professional judgment. Do not rely on them as the only basis for a decision, and verify anything important independently.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Arketo and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Intellectual property

The Arketo software, website, name, and design are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. These terms do not transfer any of those rights to you beyond the limited right to use the service. Your content stays yours, as set out above.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Arketo at any time and close your account. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect the service or other users. When your account ends, your right to use the service stops and we may delete your content after a reasonable period, subject to the Privacy Policy and any legal retention duties. Export anything you want to keep before you cancel.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Denmark have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law lets you bring a claim where you live. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
